VHH is mainly derived from camelids ( camel, llama and alpaca), and its size is only 13-15 kDa, which is much smaller than that of full-length IgG antibody (size of 150-160 kDa) and other antibody fragments (Fab is about 50 kDa, scFv is about 25 kDa).VHH has strong stability and penetration, and it can be widely used in academic research, clinical diagnosis, development and cellular therapy of therapeutic antibodies. VHH can be easily prepared in large scale in E. coli and has unique antigen binding properties.

Antibody humanization technology can reduce the immunogenicity of recombinant antibodies. We implant the human immunoglobulin heavy chain genome (without the CH1 structural domain) into Ig knockout mice. After immunizing the mice against the antigen, the mice were able to produce antibodies composed only of the heavy chain. Our optimized VHH antibodies have very low immunogenicity and are almost equivalent to human antibodies, ensuring the affinity and specificity of VHH for the antigen.
