Introduction to 5T4/TPBG
Drug targetis a biomolecule that can directly bind to drugs and then react. Generally, the target refers to protein, which is related to the cause of disease. 5T4/TPBG protein is a common target in medicine.
5T4/TPBG (also known as trophoblast cell glycoprotein or Wnt signaling regulator) is one of these clarity transmembrane proteins, 5T4/TPBG protein can have clarity functions in the embryonic development stage of living organisms, in medical cancer research, and in the development of drugs.5T4/TPBG, It is regulated by certain genes and belongs to the leucine repeat (LRR) protein family. 5T4/TPBG has a relatively variable morphological structure and function, which makes 5T4/TPBG become a focus of current research. The unique molecular structure 5T4/TPBG protein has a moderate molecular weight, consisting of more than 400 amino acids, of which 5% is the transmembrane region. The 5T4/TPBG molecular architecture contains a distinct extracellular domain, which can reconstruct the cytoskeleton and affect the cell-to-cell integrity through the PDZ domain of 5T4/TPBG. In addition, the outer part of 5T4/TPBG has some modifications, which make the protein more stable and also related to the biological activity of the protein. The transmembrane region and the intracellular tail simultaneously affect the localization of the tin to the membrane and the onset of a variety of different signals.
Function of Target 5T4/TPBG
Many scientists have shown that the 5T4/TPBG proteins have many different functions, including the molecular ones and the cellular ones. During biological embryonic development, 5T4/TPBG is a marker of early embryonic differentiation in the initial embryo, which affects and regulates the key processes of epithelial-stromal transformation (EMT), which are very important for the morphological formation of the embryo. However, in the tumor part, the abnormal expression of 5T4/TPBG protein is closely related to the progression, metastasis, and poor prognosis of several different malignancies, making 5T4/TPBG a relevant target for tumor diagnosis and treatment. The 5T4/TPBG proteins of the biological signaling pathway function mainly through regulating the Wnt signaling pathway. 5T4/TPBG protein, a negative regulator on the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, can interact with other molecular discoveries in the signaling pathway and then inhibit the activation of classical Wnt signaling, which subsequently affects the proliferation, migration, and differentiation of body cells. At the same time, 5T4/TPBG proteins may also participate in regulating the internal environment of tumor cells and their interaction with other cells through other pathways, such as the CXCL12/CXCR 4 biological axis.
