Product Background

The SNCA gene, located on chromosome 4q22.1, encodes alpha-synuclein, a 140-amino acid protein highly expressed in neurons. Structurally, alpha-synuclein comprises three domains: an N-terminal alpha-helical lipid-binding region, a central hydrophobic NAC (non-amyloid component) domain critical for aggregation, and a disordered acidic C-terminal domain that interacts with metal ions and other proteins.
