Product Description

Lerdelimumab (CAT-152,  intended trade name Trabio) is a human monoclonal antibody and an immunosuppressive drug targeting TGF beta 2. It was being developed to reduce scarring after glaucoma drainage surgery. Development was stopped in late 2005 after unsuccessful trial results for that condition.

Mechanism of Action

Lerdelimumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1),  a receptor expressed on the surface of immune cells.

Metabolism

Lerdelimumab has a long half-life characteristic of monoclonal antibodies,  allowing for less frequent dosing. It is distributed throughout the bloodstream and various tissues.
