Product Background

TNFA (TNF superfamily member 2, TNFSF2) is located on chromosome 6p21.3. TNF-α is synthesized as a 233-amino acid transmembrane precursor (tmTNF), cleaved by TACE/ADAM17 to release a 157-amino acid soluble homotrimer (sTNF). Binds to TNFR1 (ubiquitous, pro-apoptotic) and TNFR2 (immune/endothelial cells, pro-survival).
