ERBB2 (Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2), also known as HER2, is a transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the EGFR/ERBB family. Its structure includes: extracellular domain-binds to other ERBB family members (e.g., HER3, EGFR) but lacks a known ligand, transmembrane domain-anchors the receptor in the cell membrane, and intracellular tyrosine kinase domain-activates downstream signaling upon dimerization.
