PDCD1 (Programmed Cell Death 1) is a protein-encoding gene that acts as an inhibitory receptor on antigen-activated T cells, playing a critical role in inducing and maintaining immune tolerance to oneself. The inhibitory pathway mediated by PDCD1 is utilized by tumors to weaken anti-tumor immunity and evade immune system damage, thereby promoting tumor survival. The interaction with CD274/PCDD1L1 inhibits the effector function of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs).

Whether for early-stage research or large-scale production, Alpha Lifetech delivers tailored solutions to meet your exact needs, offering unmatched flexibility and high performance in every batch.

Product Background

PD1, Programmed cell death 1, PDCD1 (CD279, hSLE 1, PD-1, SLEB 2), a member of the CD28 superfamily, is a type I transmembrane protein composed of 268 amino acids. It was discovered by a Japanese professor in 1992 and is expressed on the surface of immune cells such as T cells and B cells. However, T cells hardly expressed PD-1 when not activated, and only after T-cell activation was the PD-1 expressed on the T-cell surface.
